Abstract:
A very brief report on the denning of a black bear during construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. This conversation between two Harza-Ebasco staff members is in regard to two position papers from the Alaska Power Authority on wildlife aspects of the Susitna Hydroelectric Project. The papers are: Wildlife issue W-2 : Significance of reduction in black bear denning and foraging habitat, and, Wildlife issue W-13 : Significance of other disturbances to wildlife due to human activities, such as aircraft overflights and construction noise.
