Abstract:
Walter A. Durham was serving in the U.S. Army at St. Michael and vicinity in 1901. No other biographical information is known. The images in the collection reflect his stay there and include views of St. Michael and Yukon River villages, Alaskan natives, the Alaska Exploration Co., life in the military camp, individuals H.N. Wastaway, F.A. Cooley, and unidentified U.S. Army personnel, U.S. Army housing, the U.S. Army transport "Seward," S.S. Roanoke, sternwheeler "T.C. Power."
