Abstract:
The W. Harry Postlethwaite Photographs consist of 100 images of: Dawson, Yukon; Fairbanks, Skagway, Fort Gibbon, Nome, Saint Michael, and Dome City, Alaska; a tent camp and oil derrick called Rhoad's No. 1, location unknown; Alaska Natives; and mining. While many of the images are snapshots, there are also a considerable number of commercially produced images by Huey and others, and 12 tinted real-photo postcards. The collection includes three panoramas by Huey, one of them labeled "Dome City" [i.e., Dome Camp, Alaska], and the other two likely taken in the same area.
