Abstract:
Letters received (1897-1949), relating to business, personal affairs, and frontier life; other papers relating to mining activity; newspaper clippings; diaries (1919-1935) recording prospecting and other activities; and photos of Candle and other Alaska locations, and family views; together with diaries, letters, and other papers (1850s-1941) of Muncaster's grandparents and other relatives in New York State, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Biographical/Historical Data:
Actress, b. Arabelle Frances Patchen; married Samuel G. Allen in 1892; in 1897 married Thomas Clarke Noyes and went with him to Alaska, where they became prominent in the Candle mining area; later married William Muncaster and continued her mining activities, eventually settling in Haines, Alaska.
