Abstract:
ORAL HISTORY 2016-16-36 PT. 1. Betty Mathews talks about her family background, early memories, candling eggs, living in California during the 1930s, memories of California, returning to Missouri, WWII, high school education in five different schools, her expectations, college at the University of Missouri, jobs, traveling to Germany for a job on the American Air Force base and touring Europe.

ORAL HISTORY 2016-16-36 PT. 2. Betty Mathews talks about meeting her first husband, moving to Los Angeles, getting a job at the Disney Studios, returning to Germany when he husband was assigned there, military life, returning to Alaska in 1959, getting a job in a bank, meeting her second husband, David Mathews, changes to Anchorage over the years, working in the Disney Studios, Walt Disney, perks to her job, returning to Alaska, returning to work in the bank, life as a single parent, and her second marriage.

ORAL HISTORY 2016-16-36 PT. 3. Betty Mathews talks about deciding to move to the Matanuska Valley, community involvement, getting involved with the Grange, the Palmer Historical Society, bird watching, and her children.
