Abstract:
"Jacob, an immigrant, works hard to maintain the small piece of property he's carved out of the harsh desert-like landscape of the Hawaiian lava fields. When he finds out he's got a tumor and that his days may be numbered, he determines to forgo treatment and instead uses his meager earnings to ensure his family's future after he dies. Worried about the apathy he sees in his children, he turns to his hobby of filmmaking to send a message and begins recording his story, and the tragic story of his people, the Marshallese."--Container.
