Abstract:
This investigation of soils and permafrost (frozen ground) in Alaska was undertaken in order to evaluate conditions for construction in cold climates, of buildings and airfields, using aerial photographs for terrain analysis. Includes data on geology, geomorphology and climate, with numerous examples of aerial photographs and instructions for interpretation.
