Abstract:
Bernie Rinear is interviewed by Gayle Maloy on May 17, 1985 in Fairbanks, Alaska. He talks about how he came to Alaska, his wives and children, hiking in the Sierra Nevadas, the Civilian Conservation Corps, and his photography hobby. He tells of arriving in Fairbanks at 35 below, joining the Air Force, different jobs he held, the Rainbow Valley Ranch, his collection of pictures of Fairbanks, and his prize-winning story "Moose Creek Charlie and the Quick Freeze."
