In The guns of Navarone, a specialized commando team is assembled to destroy the German Army's mighty guns of Navarone, because they control a strategic channel in the Aegean Sea. From here to eternity is a portrait of a military camp stationed in Hawaii just before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. In The bridge on the River Kwai, British soldiers captured by the Japanese during World War II are forced to construct a strategic railroad bridge which a commando team is instructed by the British High Command to destroy.
