Abstract
:
Lapsit kits are designed for use with youth aged 0-3 to promote early reading and language skills. Each kit consists of 5 books on a theme, a related music cd and a puppet. Handouts are included with thematic fingerplays, songs and stretches and information about early literacy development. Bags may be checked out for use by individual families, family care providers, early childhood development teachers, librarians and parenting class instructors. These bags are also used for Lapsit programs at Anchorage Public Library.
