Abstract:
"A fictional story about a family who lived in Larsen Bay about 300 years ago. This family spent their summers at Karluk Lake, fishing and preparing food for the winter. Through this story we learn about the daily activities at fish camp and the ways Alutiiq people used natural resources like fish, cottonwood, feathers, and berries. This story is inspired by the finds from an ancestral Alutiiq village, studied by archaeologists. At the end of the book readers learn about these finds and their connections to Iqsani's story."--Publisher's website
