Abstract:
A first-hand account of the life of nineteenth-century missionary Ella Mae Ervin Romig sent with her husband, Herman, to the Moravian mission in Bethel, Alaska. Describes hardship, disease, and difficult weather conditions as well as a growing love for the work, the land, and the people to which Ella and Herman returned to spend the bulk of their lives after their mission duty was concluded.
