Abstract:
Japanese-American photojournalist Stan Honda discusses his experiences in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, his "Camp visits series" of photographs of Japanese-American concentration camp sites during World War II, and assignments in Iraq. He "relates the aftermath of 9/11 to the unconstitutional incarceration by the U.S. government of Japanese Americans during World War II" (container). His powerful images of diverse situations are unified by his conviction that "people are the real story."
