Abstract:
Ladies of leisure: During the flapper era, a young woman tries to ensnare her confirmed bachelor beau. Meanwhile, her brother falls for a woman with a dark past.

Rain or shine: A young woman inherits her father's financially troubled circus.

Miracle woman: Based loosely on the life of famed evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson. After Florence Fallon's father is fired from the church where he preached for many years, she becomes embittered and loses faith. She teams up with Horsby, a con man, and begins faking miracles for profit. The love and trust of a blind man restores her faith in God and her fellow man.

Forbidden: Tells the story of an adulterous affair between a librarian Barbara Stanwyck and a wealthy married man.

The bitter tea of General Yen: A tragic tale of a Chinese warlord's unrequited love for an American missionary, set during China's Civil War.
