Biographical/Historical Data:
B.B. (Beverly Bennett) Dobbs was born near Marshall, Missouri in 1868, learned photography in Lincoln, Nebraska, then located in Bellingham, Washington where he conducted a gallery for twelve years. Dobbs came to Nome in 1900 and returned most summers. His exquisite Eskimo portraits received gold medal awards at the St. Louis Fair and the Louisiana Purchase Exposition.
