This report was written after preliminary surveys that were conducted during the summer of 1970 and before construction of the proposed pipeline (which started in 1974).
Abstract:
This report describes the sport fishery resources that may be affected by the construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline or by oil spills and by the North Slope service road (now known as the James W. Dalton Highway). These resources offer economic and recreational value and are important to those who depend on subsistence fishing. A tabulation of streams (from the arctic coast to Port Valdez) that may be affected is given with the salmonid species, time of year, and productivity class stated for those streams.
