Hirst-Chichagof Mining Co. was formed in 1919 by Bernard Hirst, C.W. Fires, and Goon Dip. The mine location was at Kimshan Cove on Chichagof Island in Southeast Alaska. Mill operation began in 1922 and operated almost continuously until 1943.
