Abstract:
Collection primarily includes commercial postcards and Stroud family snapshots in and around Juneau and other southeast Alaska towns. Includes local businesses and gold mining operations in the Juneau area. Photographers represented in the collection include: Winter & Pond, W.H. Case, C.W. Beyers, Fred K. Ordway, F. Matheson, and Kirk . Also included is a description of the Beaver Pole totem.

The album belonged to Bernice Morton's grandmother, Elizabeth Jane McCartney-Schaeffer Stroud, who lived in the Juneau area from 1908-1922.
Biographical/Historical Data:
Bernice's mother, Minnie Schaeffer Windsor, was the oldest of the four Stroud children born to Elizabeth Jane McCartney-Schaeffer. They lived in Juneau from around 1908-1922. Of the two youngest boys, the younger, Marcus, took the stage name Lawrence G. Marcus, and became an escape artist on the vaudeville circuit.
