Abstract:
Mary Lou Teel talks about coming to Fairbanks in the early 1950s with her first husband, her first trip to Central in 1953, working for the Alaska Dept. of Highways in the late 1960s, Fairbanks flood of 1967, staking her first claim near Circle, Bob Rothburn, Simon Soboloff, her partners, Dan Solecki and Al Cook, working her claims as a part time miner, staking claims on the Koyukuk River in 1979, difficulties encountered in getting into the Koyukuk country, division of labor between partners, and how she got some of her gold nugget jewelry.
