Abstract:
Includes 9 papers on recent studies of the Eskimos of northern inland Alaska. This volume deals with the origin of the term "Nunamiut", the style modifications of houses in time and space, the variations of the economic milieu in time, the relationships between Eskimos of northern Alaska and those of Mackenzie Strait (and Indian groups to the south and east), and the nature of the theoretical results suggested by ethnographic data.
