Abstract:
Summary: Part 1 (AAF-885) includes skiing, Piper Tri-Pacer on skis, small cabin, crude roads, Fairbanks Golden Days Parade with marching bands, camping, Kotzebue airport, Nome, moving F.E. Company dredge with Caterpillar tractors, Fairbanks Winter Carnival parade, tents and peeling logs at Anaktuvuk Pass, Riverboat Discovery, small cabin with two elderly men, Cushman Street, sluice box, log church at Anaktuvuk, Cessna 180 airplane, Wien Alaska Airlines building at Bettles. Part 2 (AAF-886) images include ice fishing, Clarks Point village scenes during winter, elderly tattooed Eskimo woman, sweat lodge, airplane and dog team, men oil kayaks, men making wooden kayak parts, harpoon with toggle, man bending wood with teeth, food taken into underground dwelling, grave markers, men showing paddles and other finished work, men cut fuel barrel and make it into a wood stove, hunting camp, walrus tusks and meat, women process meat, women cut dry grass, seal pokes are stored underground, salmon are processed, marine mammals followed by boat, Eskimo man sharpens knife on rock, walrus are butchered and a basket of bird eggs. Part 3 (AAF-884) images include Ft. Yukon during winter from the air, Fairbanks from the air, Fairbanks Winter Carnival parade and dog races, ice skaters, Miss Bethel 1947 and blanket toss.
