West talks about his personal background, the World War II years when he began flying in the "Sourdough Service," joining Sig Wien, his tour business beginnings, Arctic Alaska Travel Service, providing visitor accomodation, Alaska Highway Tours and Alaska Cruise Lines, the maritime unions, Holland America, Westravel, TravAlaska, the West logos, Alaska Visitors' Association, tourism and public policy, current Alaska tourism, and Cap Lathrop and others who helped him.
