Summary: Part 1 (AAF-5626) includes images of Upward Bound Program students at the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus, students singing and playing guitars, Second Avenue shops in downtown Fairbanks, students talking and reading the newspaper, students eating ice cream at the Dairy Queen in Fairbanks, students working on science or electronics project, students and instructors in classroom, algebra instructor writing on chalkboard and talking to student, students playing cards in dorm room, students camping and playing volleyball, students hiking and picking flowers, people rafting, man talking to students near fountain at university, students speaking at podium, students leaving Lathrop Hall with suitcases, military jets flying in formation, student Florence Francis with "How to Shoot a Movie" textbook, Sam Hughes with motorcycle, Charlotte Cruikshank and Susan Stevens at chalkboard, Frank Sampson and Lucy Mike and Bernie Steve and John Garrison in classroom, Percy? playing guitar, and JoAnn Kayoukluk playing piano.
