Abstract:
The Yukon Quest International, Ltd., Records consist of subject files, correspondence, meeting minutes, and other financial, legal, and administrative records of the Fairbanks office of Yukon Quest International. The collection also includes promotional material for the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race; photographs and albums depicting race events; and a set of audio cassette recordings of the proceedings of the 1987 International Sled Dog Symposium, sponsored by Kobuk Fuel & Feed and held in Fairbanks, Alaska, 23-24 October 1987.

Yukon Quest International organizes, manages, and oversees the annual Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race. Established in 1984, the race runs between Fairbanks, Alaska, and Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, with the starting point alternating between the two communities. The governing structure of Yukon Quest International consists of an international Council and offices in Fairbanks (Yukon Quest International, Ltd.) and Whitehorse (Yukon Quest International Association). Each of the offices, in turn, has a board of directors and a staff.
