Abstract:
Summary: Program contains music and scenes from the Athabascan Old-Time Fiddling Festival recorded November 10-11, 1983, at the Eagles Hall in Fairbanks Alaska. Includes interviews with Charlie Peter Charlie of Old Crow, Yukon Territory, Canada; Charlie Peter of Fort Yukon; Bill Stevens of Fort Yukon; Vincent Yaska of Rampart; Cerosky Charlie; Arthur Frank of Minto; Johnson Moses of Allakaket; Tony Sam of Huslia; Billy Demoski of Galena; and Victor Rock Sr. of Shageluk. Narration by Poldine Carlo provides an overview of the history and development of Athabascan fiddling. A Tanana Chiefs Video Center Production, produced by the Institute of Alaska Native Arts.
