Abstract:
The J. Louis Giddings Papers consist of a single item, the typescript of Giddings's dissertation titled "The Arctic Woodland Culture of the Kobuk River," with original photographs. Giddings submitted this work in 1951 to the Department of Anthropology, University of Pennsylvania, in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. It contains detailed information on the Inupiat living in Interior Alaska along the Kobuk River.
