Abstract:
U.S. Army film. Program about military operations during winter, and specialized military tactics in the North. Images include snow-covered mountains, small airplane landing in snow, soldiers in white winter uniforms skiing with packs, U.S. Army helicopter landing, tracked vehicle breaking trail through forested area, soldiers building ice road and corduroy road, tank maneuvers, tents, stacks of supplies in snow, boxes labeled Fort Richardson Alaska, parachuting of supplies, use of heaters to prevent water from freezing, winter camouflaging of vehicles, soldier speaking on radio, soldiers firing rifles and machine guns, ice block structures, and soldiers pulling sled toward helicopter.
