Abstract:
Sam White talks about where he was born in Maine, his many different jobs before he came to Alaska, coming to Alaska in 1902 to work on the Coastal Geodetic Survey, their survey trip to Eagle, coming down the Yukon River to Circle, the wildlife they saw while surveying, the large herds of caribou that would surround them, walking from Circle to Fairbanks, wolf predation on cow moose, his work as a game warden, his flying career, responsible hunting, the erratic nature of caribou migration, Noel Wien, flying a gunshot victim from Hughes to Tanana, and his contract work.
