Abstract:
Becky Hugo talks about growing up in Barrow, the tradition of the husband moving to his wife's village, attending school in Wainwright, meeting her husband, Willie Hugo, in Barrow, moving to Anaktuvuk Pass in 1978, her parents visiting Susie and Simon Paneak, her first impressions of Anaktuvuk Pass, raising her children in Anaktuvuk Pass, other people from Barrow that now live in Anaktuvuk Pass, her mother mailing her traditional foods from Barrow, Dorcas Hugo, positive aspects of raising children in Anaktuvuk Pass, the problem of medical care, the quality of education in the village, the prom night that was held in Anaktuvuk Pass for several villages, and work opportunities in the village.
