Abstract:
H97-65-18 Side A Dora Hugo talks about her parents choosing her husband for her, John Hugo, qualities a man looked for when choosing a wife, the different things a husband was expected to do, the kind of food she ate when she was growing up, the types of plants they collected to eat, and how she prepares caribou meat.

H97-65-18 Side B Dora Hugo talks about different ways they prepared caribou meat, eating the liver, making caribou soup, drying caribou meat, cooking sheep, the season for drying meat, caribou returning to the area in September, using ice cellars to keep caribou meat, not boasting about hunting luck, and talking about poor hunters.

H97-65-19 Dora Hugo talks about eating moose, how they prepared moose, the different parts of the moose that they ate, other game meat that they ate, how they prepared fish, what they ate during starvation times, how they stored berries, wrapping the berries in caribou skin for preserving, not eating caribou that were sick, believing that caribou have a soul, the types of skin clothing she sewed, her father sewing with a sewing machine, using the transit bus in the village, her favorite places, dancing, and the use of masks while dancing.
