Abstract:
Celia Beetus talks about having babies, help from other women during labor and delivery, midwives, moss covered with cloth, using a stick to hold during labor, using sinew to tie the cord, having her first baby in Allakaket, Martha Oldman, having her second baby in a tent on the Hog River when it was fifty below zero, using flannel diapers from the missionaries, the women who ran the mission, Native foods, having church service twice a day on Sundays in Allakaket, her mother preparing food and feeding people between the church service, having her last baby on Christmas Eve and telling the children that Santa brought her a baby boy.
