Abstract:
This document is a review of scientitic literature on downstream effects of dams, particularly on hydroelectric project effects on downstream floodplain plant communities, successional processes of uneffected floodplain plant communities, and historic and physical biologic data for Sustina River floodplain vegetation. As such, this technical memorandum summarizes study findings to inform potential responses of the Susitna River channel-floodplain-riparian ecosystem to Susitna-Watana Hydroelectric Project operational flow modifications.
